Ok, just to be clear.
A) I took all these photos myself.
B) Most of the vast, vast majority are not as good, edited, quality, clear, and/or beuatiful as I'd like to to be.
C) Most of this collection was taken in a police raid that was ill-advised and devised on the delusional ramblings of a now-convicted murderer, whom I have never ever met, not even once, and who was nevertheless used as a confidential informant who blamed me as somebody responsible for a crime which I did not commit, because he had apparently been made aware of my blotter art collection by a mutual acquaintance, and I was a convenient scapegoat. Until they raided me and discovered that I collected art, and that none of my art had drugs on it, as they were told by the convicted murderer. And so now, I am attempting to get my collection back. As such, I need to catalog the entire collection for return in order to request what I have had taken be given back to me.
ITS FOR THIS REASON THAT THERE ARE NUMBERS BELOW MANY OF THE PICTURES, BEFORE ANY CAPTION THAT MIGHT BE WRITTEN. THESE NUMBERS INDICATE MY BEST GUESS AS TO HOW MANY OF THIS SPECIFIC PIECE I HAD WHEN THEY CAME IN AND TOOK IT ALL AWAY FROM ME. THIS DID NOT COMPRISE MY COMPLETE COLLECTION, BUT DID COMPRISE A GOOD PORTION OF IT, AND SO I AM USING THIS PAGE AS A REFERENCE FOR MY FORMAL REQUEST TO HAVE MY ART COLLECTION RETURNED.

QTY TAKEN: ONE (1)
This is literally a piece of the oldest known existing blotter art still intact. I believe this to have been a piece from Mark McCloud's collection, which was at one point actually laid out, and then destroyed and or neutralized at a later time with UV lights to make it collectable. This is the Eye of Horus, and it is from some time in the early 70s I believe. It came from a limited edition collectable known as the Bust Book, and was published by one of my dearest friends. He ultiumately gave me his own personal copy of the Bust Book, signed by him and McCloud, and it came with this. There were 500 copies of the Bust Book made, but only 10 were the limited editions which contained a sample chunk of the Eye of Horus. Just having this piece included in those 10 editions added $500 to the initial price of the book. |

FLY IN THE OINTMENT
This is the piece that started it all off for me. I spent 7 years trying to find a copy of this before I finally did. Its the stuff that I attribute my first cosmic "Peek Behind the Curtain" too. Its also the stuff my wife and were on the day we fell in love and committed our lives to one another. If it weren't for this particular stuff, my life would be entirely different, and certainly not for the better. |

FLY IN THE OINTMENT (REVERSE) This was also known far and wide as Hearts & Ankhs, Hearts and Crosses, Exotic Egg, Cosmic Yoke & Cosmic Egg |
|
Vanity Piece signed by Mark McCloud. Actual art is by William Rafferty, and is a tribute to Sasha Shulgin. Its the periodic table in brilliant colors as seen through the lens of a 3-NEck round bottom chemistry flask! |

Alex Grey Signed and Numbered Carbon Jesus. #418/500. When this was actually dosed back in the day, it was SUPERB. Not quite as good as the Fly in the Ointment, but it was still very good. |

Another Timothy Leary signed print. This is the sister print to Fly in the Ointment. Its the first Leary I ever owned. Its called South Africa, by name, and was also known as Hearts & Ankhs, as you can see below... |

Hey Now,
ReplyDeleteSo how in the world do I actually get in contact with you? Would love to chat about blotter...guessing from some of your info you're friends with A.S...
Hey! I absolutely do. I'd say he is one of my very closest friends, even. I met him when I was desperately searching for the Fly in the Ointment print that I now have, which started off my whole collection and interest in the art collecting aspect of it, itself, when I wasn't even sure that it was possible to get unlaid sheets, yet... It took me about 5-7 years of searching, and then in about 2004 or 5 I happened to do another random ebau search after years and years of totally fruitless searhing, and boom--he had one for sale.
ReplyDeleteAt this point, I owe a goodly portion of my collection to him, and he has been absolutely a benevolent cat, with regard to sending things my way. From time to time I will just get a huge box in the mail, all full.
How do you know him, without divulging too much of your history or his?
Hey, yo! If you wanna get in touch with Joey, you gonna have to email me, and I will make sure he gets it directly. We is real close, see. My email address is DockEllisDee@gmail.com, and you can feel free to send me whatever you'd like, sir!
